(More customer reviews)This is my third Electric Skillet. I work 100 miles from home and live in a trailer during the week (the commute is terrible around here, but I can't afford another or even a different house). My propane Stove went out a couples years ago now and I started using my BBQ, A toaster over and/or an electric skillet instead. My first skillet was "Silver stone" coated. First time I burnt something in it was the last. I then bought a Stainless Steel pan but didn't like the temperature control and it can be hard to clean. This Zojirushi pan not only can be used to higher temperatures (460F instead of the usual 400F), it's a dream to clean and the temperature control is great. I've already burnt something (on Purpose) Blackened peppercorn Rib Eye. Great!!! (anyone got a good air purifier, next time I'll do it on the porch, another advantage, its portable) But nothing sticks to it, don't even need oil or butter. I like it so much I've ordered the larger Sizzler and started using it too. It's got a larger surface and the sides aren't as deep so it's easier to get a spatula into. Also it goes to 480F (call the Fire Department, yee hah). The design is different, but it's a great pan too.

(More customer reviews)My boyfriend and I both love shabu shabu, so I was thrilled when he bought me this shabu pot as a gift. The first night we used it, we laid out a feast of sliced beef, lamb and vegetables which congregated around our shiny, brand new shabu pot. Starved and salivating, we turned on the shabu pot, tummies aching in anticipation of the meal to come. The water heated, began steaming, and a few tiny bubbles rose to the surface... but simply never broke into a rolling boil. We tried cooking one of the pieces of meat in the water, but it was clear that the water simply wasn't hot enough, and was never going to get hot enough. We ended up cooking our shabu on the stove. Another glitch is that the hot plate kept turning itself off. There were similar complaints about the 2-in-1 version of this product, so I don't think the problem was specific to the one we bought!

I purchased for use primarily as a tabletop boiling pot for sate', but with the adjustable heating it works great as a warming pot, simmer pot, steamer, and a variety of other dishes. The power cord is a little short for the table top cooking, but is perfect lenght if the cooker is on the countertop. The plastic bottom is a little flimsy, but as long as it isn't dropped, works well. Good cooker at a good price.

Now I could only use low power and it takes a long time to cook the food. I'm not sure how long the warranty of the product is.

One of the things in the manual was that fact that you could go to the Foreman web site and download a rice cooking guide and a steamer table.
Well, if you can find those on the Foreman site please tell ME.
I dropped the rating I might have given by two stars.
Why did Foreman not include the guides and tables with the product?
This will be sent back.
I will not advise anyone to buy it.

It is helpful to boil your water in a pot first then pour it into the Shabu Shabu pot. By doing this you do not have to wait for the water to heat up and you can begin your feast much faster.

(More customer reviews)I am cheap (Asian), and was not keen on plopping down $100 on this cooker. Totally worth it. I got it after I saw some little old ladies at 99 Ranch buying one!
Cooks hot pot like a CHAMP. I was using a single burner with a divided hot pot pot (lol) on top and I had to boil a separate pot the stove to keep up with demand (feeding 4 adults). No more! This thing is sooo convenient. Super easy to adjust the temperature and it heats up quickly.
Nice safety feature that it has a magnetic power cord, in case someone trips over it or you have kids. It stays on just fine.
Also works great as a steamer.
The finish is conducive to easy cleanup.
The grill part...well, I mean...it's essentially a one-sided George Foreman grill. Nothing too special there--but it is very easy to clean.
Buy it! You know if the old Chinese ladies at 99 Ranch were buying, it HAS to be good.
**Update**
Owned it now for almost a year. Still going strong, still highly recommended. It even saved me through a stove issue (2 weeks for the new part to arrive). There are a lot of things you can make with this cooker, I have to say.
