King Kooker 80-Quart Stainless Steel Boiling Pot Review

I ordered the pot for a craw fish boil this weekend. I received the item on time, but the pot was not very well made. The strainer handle broke off when I attempted to lift the first batch of craw fish from the boiling water. Also, the rivets on the lid handle do not appear to be finished (they were just punched straight through) and look to be the next piece that breaks.
Amazon also does not give you the option to contact this seller. Very disappointing.

We used our 16qt steamer last night for the first time to make tamales. We loved it! The steamer we had previously was only 8 qts, and didnt have a very deep insert, so you coudn't cook very many tamales at one time. This product has a deep insert which is perfect for making tamales.

The pot is grreat for steaming seafood, veggies, and whatever else u have at the same time. I grew up using one of these at the south Jersey shore and it was fun to share a similar experience with my family at the south Florida shore. Enjoy!!!!!

This Granite Ware 3 tier shore dinner pot with faucet is constructed of porcelain. The convenient 3 tier design is perfect for cooking your whole meal in one pot. Porcelain enamel is the result of fusing powdered glass to a substrate by firing, usually between 750 and 850 degrees Celsius. The powder melts and flows and hardens to a durable vitreous coating on a carbon steel core. It creates a smooth, hard finish that won\'t burn and resists staining. It\'s also non -porous so it won\'t trap odors or food particles and provides a low coefficient of friction – meaning that it cleans up easily and, it is corrosion and chemically resistant so it will last a long time. When fired, the vessel is placed on pins so the bottom and sides are hardened during the firing process into one smooth laminated glass surface. You may notice slight pin indentations where the glass has flowed around the pin that supports the base during firing. The pin marks do not compromise the finish or performance of the vessel in any way but you should take additional care in handling if using on glass top stove.12 Qt capacity.

This may be a great pot when it's in good shape, but your chances of getting an undented one are close to zero. the first pot I got had a dented lid, and it was clearly damaged in transit. The box they shipped it in was very thin, and they did not double-box it. The replacement (which arrived very quickly - thank you Amazon) WAS double-boxed, and the inner box was not damaged at all (the outer was a mess, though)but when I opened it, I saw a huge dent, so severe that quite a bit of enamel was chipped off both inside and outside of the bottom pot. (see photo)So even though I still want this pot and Amazon's price is good, I'll pay more and buy it locally, where I can at least see what I'm getting. Going back and forth to UPS is a very annoying waste of time. Too bad both Granite Ware and Amazon don't understand that this product is delicate and must be handled carefully.

Imusa Steamer Pot, Aluminum Review

Imusa Steamer Pot, Aluminum
Average Reviews:

I'm very pleased with this large stock pot. I borrowed an aluminum 20 qt stock pot last fall to do some canning. I enjoyed canning so much that I decided I wanted a stock pot of my own. Most of my cookwear is All-Clad or Calphalon. But a 20 qt stock pot in either brand is very expensive and the pot, itself, quite heavy. This Imusa aluminum pot suits my needs perfectly and is reasonably priced. It's sturdy enough and very light. So far, I've used it to cook turkey stock (post-Thanksgiving) and I've used it for canning. I intend to use it for cooking lobster. The steamer tray fits perfectly into the pot (which has a ridge on the inside for holding it in place). The steamer tray worked well for canning, too, keeping the jars off the bottom of the pot. Just remember that, unlike an All-Clad or other high end version of a large stock pot, this is aluminum inside and out. So nothing acidic (you probably already know that) in the Imusa. Don't cook tomato sauce in this. Don't add lemon to your stocks. You get what I mean. Happy cooking, everyone.

Don't mess with tradition...this is the same crab pot I grew up with! Simple, and practical...we use it outside on the side burner of the grill to get a good rolling boil for steam that you don't get with the new electric stove tops. The PERFECT steamer for blue crabs in the Chesapeake Bay tradition! Hint: add 2 cups of water, 2 cups of vinegar & 2 beers to the base, and bring to a boil...load live crabs in top, layering with "Old Bay" and steam til they turn red (10 min?). ENJOY them while they are HOT!

When I received this the packaging it came in was perfect, not a scratch or dent on it, but the pot on the other hand....the pot, the steamer, and the lid were all bent. Bent badly enough in different places that the lid wouldn't lay flat without attempting to bend it back by hand...which didn't work. Its scratched so badly that the coating is flaking off. I'm returning asap. If I get a replacement in good condition then I'll change my review otherwise I stand at 1 star for this poorly made and received product. Shame on you Amazon! (Again I repeat: It was NOT the fault of UPS who delivered it, the box was in perfect shape.)
Update on the product its self: Works fine. Deep enough. Love that the basket just lifts and drains away. I used it to make tamales and it held quite a few of them. Still pretty pissed about the condition it was received in. Bent lid on a steamer means the steam doesn't stay in.

This is a huge pot! Great for Maryland steamed crabs. Pot is almost too big for the stove - but works great on a propane burner outside. Crabs do steam a little faster because of all the holes in the insert pot. Also, clean-up is a challenge because it's big for the kitchen sink, but finish/granite ware does clean-up well. Great value.
