IKEDA Thermos Thermal Cooker 5.5 L (5.8 quart) stainless steel Thermo pot. Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)This pot looks nice. Inner pot bottom has three layer of steel? It's thicker (1/4"). Good enough to brown meat on medium heat without hotspots. The outer pot container leaks heat on the top and around the edges of the lid which is normal since there is no vacuum seal there, but the bottom and some parts of the side feels warm. These areas should not feel warm and indicates that the vacuum is not properly done and is defective. Wish I could return it, but cost of shipping both ways would be too much. It's good for keeping food hot for 3 hours and after that, it's warm. I'll find some other use out of it, but not what I purchased it for, which is to continue to cook food with boiling residual heat for at least 2 hrs. It just doesn't keep the boiling temperature long enough. Nice to look at but poor kraftsmanship. Made in China. Make sure you get yours from Made in Japan. They have a much better quality control. I assumed wrongly that this was made in Japan.

Thermal Magic makes cooking easy and enjoyable. Boil ingredients in the inner pot over a flame (pre-cooking). After boiling, place the entire inner pot into the outer pot. The outer pot's vacuum stainless steel construction maintains the high temperature of the inner pot for slow cooking (heat-retention cooking), easily cooking foods that require low heat. There is no need to worry about spilling, burning or boiling dry. Since no flame is used while cooking by heat retention, it is safe to leave the house before cooking is done. No gas or electricity is used during heat-retention cooking, so it is also very economical. Since the food stays warm, there is no need to reheat so people can eat at different times, even after six hours.
