Worked very well first time out of the gate.
Cooked a 13.7lb turkey in the minium time.
Seems well built and thought out.
I prefer an electric fryer to a gas one for reasons of safety and that it can be used inside.
I owned an earlier Masterbuilt that worked well but failed after only a few Thanksgivings.
The main reason I gave this one a 4 instead of 5 star is that, to me, the jury's out on the reliability.
Still, the first one worked well enough to give them a second chance.
Right now, this one's working great.

(More customer reviews)I own three pieces of cast iron cookware, and this item is one of them... and among my favorite cooking implements, period. For dishes requiring steady, even heat and for cooks who require durable cookware with easy clean-up, cast iron CANNOT be beat!
This fryer is going to last forever. Its care is easy: I scrub it with hot water only, and dry it with an old rag and apply a thin layer of vegetable oil while the iron is still hot... a year and a half later, it's still rust-free and delivering the reliable service I have come to expect and admire. No scratches interfere with its performance, as is the case with my allegedly-long-lasting Wearever nonstick cookware set (what a waste of money THAT was!). In fact, in this particular chicken fryer, I've produced everything from french fries to spaghetti sauce to eggs and bacon to french toast! It's a dependable griddle, skillet, grill, and pot, and it goes right from the stovetop and into the oven for maximum versatility.
The best thing about the chicken fryer is its somewhat smaller circumference than the skillet or the Dutch oven. It takes up a bit less stovetop space and provides greater depth, making it ideal for small batches of soups, stews, or deep-fried goodies.
I am an avid home-chef, and I can say without exception that my cast-iron cookware is the best kitchen investment I've ever made.

(More customer reviews)I have just ordered another Fry-Daddy. This will be the third one that I have had over the years. It is lighweight and is just a pot that holds oil as someone said. It is so convenient and not heavy, it makes it easy to store if you do not have countertop room. There are all kinds of deep fryers, but none that does a better job than this one. I would recommend it to anyone.

(More customer reviews)I am very happy with this vertical roaster. I've used it dozens of times, and throw it in the dishwasher when I'm done - not even one rust spot.
The accompanying recipe also gets an A+ - I've had several requests for the recipe. It's almost impossible to ruin a bird cooked this way. Even if you overcook, it will still be moist because of the inner steam.
However, it doesn't come with a cup, so you have to either find a glass that fits or use a can. I don't like the idea of superheated aluminum and paint, so luckily I have a glass that fits perfectly.
I use mine in the oven, not the BBQ, though I'm sure it would work well there also. It fits in a pie pan, and I use a glass one. If you don't have a pie pan, you may want to consider buying a roaster which comes with its own pan.
I still give it 5 stars because for what you get, it works beautifully!
