Our pasta set includes a 12-quart covered stockpot and a 12-quart pasta insert. The advantages of cooking with this insert are many. The insert fits into the pot and the pasta cooks within the insert. When the pasta is cooked, simply lift the insert above the pan to drain. Because the pasta is lifted rather than poured, draining is a gentle process, ideal for delicate filled pasta such as ravioli. As the water drains back into the cooking pot, there is no worry of water backing up into your sink if your colander drains too slowly. And if you decide you need to cook a second batch of pasta, the water can be brought back to a boil quickly. Not just for pasta, the insert may be used for blanching vegetables, boiling corn or making stocks, and the stockpot alone will hold a party size batch of chowder.

Norpro KRONA 6 Quart Stainless Steel Steamer Cooker 3 Piece Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This pot is extremely well-made and should easily last a lifetime. It works very well as a steamer, but equally well as a stock pot for making soups & stews by simply removing the basket. I have also used it to re-moisturize dried-out breads and rolls. The base is heavy and perfectly flat so it won't "rock" when placed upon glass cooktops. The lid fits very well and it does not "rattle" when steam escapes. It is a terrific value.

8 Quart Multi Cooker Pasta Lock & Drain 3 in 1 Stock Pot Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is a really nice pan. I have used it many times. It is good quality and the right size for my family. The steamer basket works great and so does the lock and drain system. The only thing that I don't like is the lid design. If you aren't using the drain piece the lid sits down in a groove and is not tight fitting so when the food gets hot and boils the lid jiggles and makes noise and spews water drops all over the stove top or floor. I have had to resort to using a lid from another pan that fits better, go figure!

Simply Calphalon Stainless Multipot Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this set to replace another pot of similar size. I figured that this would be a great deal - it's got inserts and it's from Calphalon at a great price too. The tempered glass cover fits well and is helpful because you can see inside without removing the cover although it spits when the pot is at a full and rapid boil. It's a stainless steel piece so it's not dark when you look inside like many other Calphalon pieces. The aluminum bottom is not the same as on their commercial or professional lines. It's a heavy-duty aluminum bottom attached to a stainless steel pot. Even though the pot along with the bottom is thicker and heavier than most other lines that do the same, it did not heat up like other Calphalon pieces that I own. Still, I cooked a stew at a slow simmer for six hours and it didn't burn at the bottom. A good thing.
This is the first time that I have inserts like these and I don't think much of the big insert. To cook pasta or food, you need to add an additional 2 quarts of water (the amount needed to touch the bottom of the insert) making it more time consuming to use. I will cook my pasta without the insert and may use the insert as a colander/drainer. The small insert is useful because you can steam items while boiling pasta or other items
All in all, a good pot not a great one at a great price.

Norpro 1 Quart Stainless Steel 3 Piece Mini Steamer Cooker Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)It was very hard to find a single serving steamer to steam vegetables, this is perfect, bought one for my daughter who lives along in an apartment as well as for myself. Only slight problem is the handles get quite hot so you have to use hotpads to take it off the stove.

Prime Pacific Pasta Cooker and Steamer set with Glass Lid and Bonus 1.5 Quart Euro Colander Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Although this pot is inexpensive, I don't think it is a good value. The quality level of this pot is typical of what is found in dollar stores. The steel is so thin that I can literally buckle the side of the pot with my index finger. You are going to have to coddle this pot to keep it from getting dented up.
The steel at the base is just as thin as the sides, so heat distribution is terrible. This will not be too big an issue if you're just boiling water for pasta or steaming. But, this pot is not going to double as good stock pot.
It looks as inexpensive as it is. So, it's probably not going to flatter the decor of your kitchen.
Accordingly, I am returning this item. I think it's worth spending a little more to get something better.

Prime Pacific Stainless Steel Pasta Pot Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The small pot included in this order was of inferior quality. This was the 2nd time I had ordered it, but chose to keep the Large Pot and throw away the small pot, as it was also defective the same way it was on the first order. The nipples on the inside didn't exist and was not able to lock/close the lid.
