I love this set. It is well worth the money. Very good quality. It is larger than I thought it would be. It makes cooking much more enjoyable.

Our pasta set includes a 12-quart covered stockpot and a 12-quart pasta insert. The advantages of cooking with this insert are many. The insert fits into the pot and the pasta cooks within the insert. When the pasta is cooked, simply lift the insert above the pan to drain. Because the pasta is lifted rather than poured, draining is a gentle process, ideal for delicate filled pasta such as ravioli. As the water drains back into the cooking pot, there is no worry of water backing up into your sink if your colander drains too slowly. And if you decide you need to cook a second batch of pasta, the water can be brought back to a boil quickly. Not just for pasta, the insert may be used for blanching vegetables, boiling corn or making stocks, and the stockpot alone will hold a party size batch of chowder.

Norpro KRONA 6 Quart Stainless Steel Steamer Cooker 3 Piece Set Review

Norpro KRONA 6 Quart Stainless Steel Steamer Cooker 3 Piece Set

This pot is extremely well-made and should easily last a lifetime. It works very well as a steamer, but equally well as a stock pot for making soups & stews by simply removing the basket. I have also used it to re-moisturize dried-out breads and rolls. The base is heavy and perfectly flat so it won't "rock" when placed upon glass cooktops. The lid fits very well and it does not "rattle" when steam escapes. It is a terrific value.

I bought this product wondering how it worked? seems like a great idea!! It is a sound solid looking cooking device, heavy duty stainless steel.
But, Instructions are very hard to read (the makers of this product did not use, um well, a person that understands english very well. lol.you wont understand the terms they use. chopping seems to mean mixing they tell you to chop all through out cooking .sometimes im sure they mean mix. Also many obvious spelling errors. very bad instructions!
They only offer 3 recipes, the 3 recipes call for already chopped veggies????? thought the focus of this product was NOT to chop your own ???? one of the 3 recipes also calls for can of mushroom soup!!!not very origanal.
It is a nice looking soup maker just wish instructions were more user freindly!
you would think they would give you recipes to explore and
how to use this cooker.

Enjoy delicious, restaurant-quality soups from the comfort of home with this innovative hot-soup maker. From soul-warming chicken and barley soups to savory minestrone, beef, and vegetarian versions, the unit makes quick work of all the preparations normally required. The appliance features an 8-cup stainless carafe and internal chopping and mixing blades that dice carrots, potatoes, fresh herbs, and other ingredients, reducing hands-on time, while its electronic controls and digital preset timer make it simple to cook soups to mouthwatering perfection. Best of all, an automatic open/shutoff function stops the unit if it senses an open lid for added safety and peace of mind. Additional highlights include a small "add flavor" device on the lid for adding ingredients or spices without stopping the cooking process; a keep-warm function that maintains soup's temperature for up to an hour after cooking; an ergonomic stay-cool handle for lifting and pouring soup into bowls or serving dishes; and a detachable cutting blade for effortless cleanup between uses. The hot-soup maker measures approximately 10-2/3 by 10-2/3 by 15-3/5 inches.

Wolfgang Puck Stainless Steel Cookware Set - 18pc Review

Wolfgang Puck Stainless Steel Cookware Set - 18pc
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Wolfgang Puck Collection is fantastic as a full set of stainless steel cookware, however, as others have said, you need to know to first use oil ( I like Grapeseed for it's high heat tolerance) and then a bit of butter if you want that flavor, ( such as for scrambled eggs, etc..) After you're done, put a little water in the pan, use the spatula to loosen debris, then wipe. IT will be easier to clean once cooled down later on in the sink. You can't just put butter and make your food, then let it harden, and expect to not have to soak, and still use a stainless scouring pad. Taking the minute or two to do the above will make it a breeze. Then using stainless scrubber is still good, you can shine it right up, including the bottom, but fast, with nothing catching in the scour pad, (yuck!) I always had to use a scour pad this way with Revere Ware when I was a kid, nothing different, but until Wolfie showed the water method ( used by cooks in restaurants for years by the way) I never knew! My opinion with Teflon: Not worth it, if people don't take care of it, it peels and is then toxic, can't use a high heat. Forget putting in oven. YOu can use a higher heat with all Stainless all the way around, just have to learn a few simple tricks. ANy fool can cook with teflon, but it's limited and they don't hold up. Wolfgang puck holds up 10 years like new.. and going!

Cuisinart CSC-650 Slow Cooker Review

Cuisinart CSC-650 Slow Cooker
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I did quite a bit of research before purchasing this slow cooker.
America's Test Kitchen recommends West Bend Versatility slow cooker. It is a truly versatile model, but I didn't like its aluminum insert. As you may know, aluminum can be hazardous to health, so this slow cooker was scratched off my list pretty quickly.
The other models I looked at were All-Clad Stainless Steel Slow Cooker (available from William Sonoma only), Farberware Millennium (also recommended by America's Test Kitchen), Cuisinart CSC-650 and various Rival models ("various Rival models" has an interesting ring to it :) ).
All of the latest slow cookers are made in China, so I was somewhat concerned about the construction quality. One of the main reasons I picked Cuisinart model was a 3-year warranty, compared to just 1 year for the rest of the competition.
Another factor was the generally positive feedback from CSC-650 owners. Cooking.com is probably a better place to check for reviews, because they let you post a review only if you actually purchased that particular item from them.
I had this baby delivered to me about a week ago, and I put it to work right away. I must say I am satisfied with my purchase decision. Having said that, here's a list of things that I do and don't like about this machine...
Do Like:
--------
- 3-year warranty (1 year for every other slow cooker I researched)
- retractable cord (I wish every appliance had it!)
- cooks well (overall), and no, it doesn't burn food as some reviewers have indicated
- construction quality seems to be good, although it is impossible to say for sure until appliance is a couple of years old
Don't Like:
-----------
- stainless steel housing gets stained quite easily, should have been more fingerprint-resistant
- "Made in China": $99 is a premium price to pay for an item that was manufactured using cheap labor; manufacturers who reap huge profits from the North American market should invest into the local labor market
- cooks most things faster than recipies (even the ones included in Cuisinart booklet) indicate, so you have to keep an eye on your food to make sure it doesn't overcook
After purchasing the slow cooker, I headed straight to the local bookstore to pick up a recipe book. I skimmed through about 6-7 titles, and ended up buying Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Cookbook by Beth Hensperger and Julie Kaufmann. Most of its recipies are made from scratch and rarely use any canned ingridients. It also seems to have the best overall collection of recipies.
Yesterday, I had a few friends over and we had ourselves a feast. I cooked quite a few things in the slow cooker:
- Lamb Goulash (which was ruined/overcooked - the first thing I ever done in this slow cooker)
- Chicken Casseatore (not sure about spelling, it's from the Cuisinart booklet) came out nicely, it was around the time that I started looking closely after the cooking process.
- Short Ribs In Red Wine were perfect, here, again, the cooking time was 5 hours instead of 7 hours indicated in the recipe.
Overall, I am happy. I didn't experience any of the problems reported by some reviewers. I can safely recommend this appliance.

RSVP UNIV-G Universal Lid w/Glass Insert Review

RSVP UNIV-G Universal Lid w/Glass Insert
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The reason I got this lid is because I have two saute pans that did not come with lids. Sometimes, I want to turn off the heat but cover the saute pan so that heat is trapped in. The manufacturer of this lid makes several claims suggesting the lid would work well for my purposes. They characterize it as a "universal lid." They say that the lid specifically fits "saute pans" that have a diameter of 7" to 12". They also claim the "inner ridges provide a customized fit." This is all very misleading. After trying out the lid, I now realize that most saute pans, including mine, have a handle that extends upward -- higher than the plane of the rim. So when you attempt to rest a wide lid like this on the rim of the pan, the handle is in the way. It will never lie flat. So for my 8" saute pan, this lid is pretty much worthless. My 10" saute pan is big enough so that the lid ALMOST rests flat on the rim. So if you have a saute pan that is more than 10", it might work for you.
By the way, the lid is very flat. The "ridges" really don't change anything in that regard. It's also very thin and light. The manufacturer claims that the lid is 18/10 stainless steel. That may be, but it is a very thin 18/10 stainless steel. I have mostly KitchenAid and All-Clad cookware made of 18/8 or 18/10 stainless steel. I don't consider the stainless steel in this lid to be anything like my cookware. The quality of the thin metal used in this lid is much more comparable to the inexpensive pots and pans that you find in department stores. Aside from that, the lid seems to be structurally sound.

Many people swear by pressure cooking because of the speed of cooking and consistent results.
Cuisinart takes the process one step further.
Unlike stove-top cookers that require you to monitor the cooking process, the Cuisinart electric unit allows you to drop the ingredients, press the setting buttons and walk away.
Traditional pressure cooking recipies may require some slight time adjustments, but most are the same.
This unit is as simple to use as a crock pot.
Chicken, ribs, roasts, rice, pasta are all possible in a fraction of the time. I highly recommend this unit over the traditional stove top units.

Aroma Housewares AST-900E AeroMatic Convection Oven Review

Aroma Housewares AST-900E AeroMatic Convection Oven
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I love these turbo ovens and have been using them for years.
The Aroma brand of products never disappoints for quality and usability and this oven is no exception.
Basically it sits on your counter. You load the pot with food such as chicken wings or a pork roast or a whole chicken or just about anything.
The lid contains a heater and a fan and it blows superhot air across the food cooking it. It can give the effect of either deep frying without the oil and fat or a rotisserie except you can do it on the countertop with no special equipment.
For the worlds best wing:
Turbo Wings
3-4 pounds of defrosted chicken wings - whole or separated into wings and drumettes
Season with:
Kosher salt
Spicy Hungarian Paprika
Cayenne - a light sprinkle
a dash of pepper
a dusting of garlic powder to taste
Pack loosely into the turbo over. Roast at high heat ~375-400'F for about 15-20 minutes. Watch them cook.
When done they have this awesome crispy outside with tender juicy meat inside.
I've tried these wings a variety of ways including a regular convection over and somehow they are never as good as with the turbo oven. I think the air circulation is better in the more confined space of the turbo.
This will give you years of delicious fast preparing food for the busy person, and the unit cleans in a snap.
Well worth the price. I just bought another one here from Amazon to replace one I have thats 14 years old. I broke the pot by accident. The heater and turbo unit are still fine and work great.

In addition to being lightweight and portable, the convection oven cooks food faster than traditional ovens while using 80-percent less energy. Its tempered-glass detachable cooking bowl, supported by a steel stand, ensures temperature stability and allows for watching the convection action of the oven cook meals to perfection. The unit's design helps keep fat and oils away from food to promote low-fat cooking, and its built-in timer delivers proper cooking times. Cuisinart Classic Stockpot Review

Cuisinart Classic Stockpot
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I recently purchased this 12qt stockpot with a pasta insert and cover, and I couldn't be more pleased. The pot is beautifully made, with very confortable handles (another reviewer noted the finger grips -- a nice touch) and the lid fits perfectly.
I used it for the first time to cook 2 chickens and make stock. Both chickens fit easily in the pot, yet allowed enough space for adequate water. It was very easy to bring the pot to a boil and then reduce to a very slow simmer, just a bubble or two breaking the surface. I used the simmer burner on my gas stove, and for the first time was able to maintain a simmer with the lid tightly on. With my old stockpot (large enough for only one chicken) even with the simmer burner at the lowest setting I could not maintain a simmer with the lid tightly on the pot.
The pasta insert made it a breeze to remove the chickens when they were cooked, and reduce the stock while I picked the meat off the bones and returned the bones to the pot in the insert to cook longer, more fully flavoring the broth. Removing the insert removed the bones and other parts, making straining the stock a simple one-step process. This same process with the pasta insert will make blanching vegetables from the garden MUCH easier and faster, and I'm looking forward to freezing the veggies from next summer's garden.
The pot is weighty and solid, yet With a full pot of water I can still lift and carry it, which I could never manage with an All-Clad 12qt stockpot.
I like this pot so much I just today ordered the Chef's Classic 7 piece set with bonus 2 1/2 qt sautee pan. I can hardly wait to have a lobster feed and sacrifice some of Maine's finest lobsters in this pot, served with sides cooked up in pots from my new set. I highly reccomend this stockpot and this cookware line.

Cuisinart CRC-800 8-Cup Rice Cooker Review

Cuisinart CRC-800 8-Cup Rice Cooker
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After purchasing this unit, I too had spill over at very low water rice levels. I realized that this is the same problem one would get, using even medium heat to cook grits, or rice in a regular pot.......
(If you leave the top of the pot down tight.)
There is no way, because of the high heat setting of this unit, that the glass lid supplied can be used to completely cover the cooking pot, even though the instruction book indicates so.. The hole would have to be much larger to allow steam to escape.
The temperature setting of the heating dictates the designer set it high to allow the use of the steaming attachment, using a high boiling point
The steam will push the oxygen mols from the pot causing a very low barometric air pressure.
With this the bubbles generated by the boiling rice water will have almost no air pressure to keep them low or at minimum.{ they expand greaty), Thus foaming out the sides of the pot.
Even though I could not find in the instruction that the glass top would not work if it was used to completely cover the cooker top while cooking, the picture on the box was a clue.
The picture shows the steamer unit sitting in place, with the glass lid on top.
Using the steamer attachment, 2 measures of rice using plastic, and 2 1/3 cups of water using a measuring cup, I started the unit.
A few bubbles and steam came up through the bottom of the steamer, for a while, and than decreased. ( no boil over ). Once the temperature in the unit exceeded 220 degrees ( all water boiled off) : the unit went into stand-by.
Perfectly cooked rice.Every time

I use the steamer unit, even if I not even steaming vegetable or etc.No boil over. It has many holes in it to allow steam excapement with out
boil over. Caution........... The steamer tray gets as hot as the steam generated in the cooking process.
Do not touch the steamer tray attachment with-out waiting for it to cool, and keep this unit well away from the reach of children, or uncovered,
un-protected hands. In this cooling time the "laden" heat in the left over steam can return to the rice, and complete the cooking cycle.
If the water is allowed to boil out, burnt rice at the bottom.

The directions are in error,Check it out, Happy riceing

Cuisinart FRC-800 Rice Plus Multi-Cooker with Fuzzy Logic Technology
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've had this rice/oatmeal/slow cooker now for 6 months. This machine cooks all kinds of rice extremely well and that's what it primarily was designed to do. You can cook sushi, brown, risotto, etc. rices and they turn out perfect. They also stay warm and perfectly moist if you need to set the keep warm function. The parts remove easily for cleaning.
The easy to read display doesn't tell you how many minutes it will take to cook your rice choice. You have to read through the instruction booklet to find out how long each cycle is. A countdown function of remaining time would have been really nice. The first time I made brown rice my family waited almost 2 hours to eat dinner.
This machine doesn't do the extra stuff very well. I made 1 cup of steel cut (Irish) oatmeal with 2 cups of water in a machine designed to hold 8 cups of water. The frothy water boiled over, out of the steam hole, and into the electronics board. It fried the circuit board. Fortunately the unit comes with a 3 years, no questions asked warranty. Cuisinart sent me a replacement unit for $10 shipping/handling.
The slow cooker function runs on the equivalent of "high" temperature for a slow cooker. They don't tell you that in the user manual. When you use the unit on slow cooker, the first 10 minutes of the cycle sautes whatever you put in the pan. This is useful if you need to brown meat or onions.
I love Cuisinart but this one doesn't live up to the usual quality of Cuisinart products. I have the machine and will use it 'till it dies, but I don't know if I would buy another.

I have to say I am disappointed over all. The bulging bottom seems to cause the boiling water to rise up on the outside of the strainer rather than boil up through the holes and agitate the pasta. I also found a humid summer caused spots of rust to spring up due to a poor grade of steel.

Cuisinart CRC-400 4-Cup Rice Cooker Review

It's easy to clean and sure looks great on your countertop!
Positive feedback stops here.
I made a mess out of cooking rice (all the negative reviews are true) until I figured that I should use slightly less water than the recommended quantity. After that, I spent 1 year using it nonstop (we eat rice every day).
365 days later, the non-stick bowl is BADLY chipped, like little bubbles that burst on the bottom and left pinhead-sized chips. I swear that I never used anything else than the included plastic scoop (and sponge for cleaning) and never ever scratched it, so I'm 100% sure the non-stick coating quality is to blame.
Add to that that non-stick coating is toxic*, this baby is out of my kitchen as soon as I can afford a Zojirushi. They're not as elegants, but they last forever. For more info on teflon toxicity, visit http://www.ewg.org
