(More customer reviews)I received the double set of the Pasta Express this morning. I was extremely disappointed w/ the packaging of the set. I received the set in a plain cardboard box w/ the directions placed inside of one of the tubes that I cant even get open. How do I know that this hasnt been used before? Where is the original box (as shown in the picture)? Dont waste your time w/ this product because you cant even tell if it is brand new or not. I was planning on giving it as a gift for Christmas but I dont think I will now. I may return it but its such a hassle that I may just keep it.

Microwave Ramen Cooker Review

At last! A way to cook ramen in the microwave so that it comes out tasting like you cooked it on the stovetop!
The cooker is large enough to hold 2 packs of ramen at once and is suitable for cooking additional ingredients like eggs freshly cracked right on top of the ramen brick.
After 7 minutes in the microwave, it's hot and steamy enough to stir a raw egg in and have egg drop ramen.
I use chives myself. ^^
Clean up is easy and the ramen flavoring doesn't stain.
My favorite feature is only present in the other model available from eKitron though. It would have to be the fact it has a miso spork that's perfect for eating ramen and it fits conveniently right inside the lid. ^^
I haven't tried this particular model, but it's made by the same company and is more than likely of the same high quality. You can compare and contrast at eKitron.com.
Highly, Highly recommended for any ramen fan!

(More customer reviews)I bought two of these tagines--total impulse buy, as we were looking for ways to steam food. They have been an integral part of my kitchen ever since. Spray them with cooking spray, add some fish cut into chunks(we have tried tilapia and salmon thus far), thinly sliced vegetables and spices (I have been experimenting with making my own ras el hanout), put it in the oven at 360, and in 20-25 minutes, dinner is ready!
Comes with a small recipe book that suggests microwave use, but we would rather use the oven. Overall, the tagine makes moist, flavorful low-fat, low calorie meals that don't taste low-fat, low calorie!
Definitely one of my better impulse buys!

One thing that the directions do not tell you though is that you should put a cover over the pan in order to get the top of the whites to cook. Also, it is not big enough for large eggs. Medium is a correct size (I haven't seen small to try those).
In any case, I made eggs benedict this morning and the eggs were perfectly poached. Yay!

Nordic Ware Microwave Omelet Pan Review

(More customer reviews)The Nordic Ware Microwave Omelet Pan is quite a nifty little kitchen gadget. Before purchasing, I had said to myself, "Making an omelet in the microwave? Impossible." I got this pan and was proven wrong. To my surprise, the omelets made in this pan come out rather tasty. I was also pleased that the eggs come right out of the pan and don't stick at all. However, as others have said, you must use some kind of cooking spray, oil or butter for a completely non-sticking surface when removing the egg from the pan. It's easy to clean. No stuck-on, hard to remove egg whatsoever.
I remember reading one or maybe a few reviews that said their pan didn't come with instructions. Mine did. I followed them and the resulting omelet was not the best. It came out a bit hard. It was edible and not bad but not particularly the best omelet. The instructions are rather standard and goes as follows:
- 2-4 eggs
- 2 tablespoons of milk or water
- Beat in a small bowl
- Pour the mixture in the omelet pan evenly on both sides
- Cook for 2 minutes
- Stir from outside in
- Place the toppings on each half and cook for another 1.5 minutes
- Remove from the microwave
- Fold the pan to make the omelet
What the instructions do not take into account is the wattage of the microwave you're using or that times may vary depending on the amount of eggs you use.
My findings based on the use of 2 eggs, which I think is more than enough(for me anyway), is that hand or electrically mixed eggs took 1.15 to 1.30 minutes to be completely cooked or when the eggs started to bubble up and it looked like they would bubble over and the wet egg was consumed. Any longer or following the above directions provided by Nordic Ware resulted in the hard or rubbery eggs that I described earlier. However, using the times I indicated resulted in a soft, fluffy, fully cooked omelet which was more to my liking. Another important note is that I'm using a 1250W microwave. Perhaps the factory directions would be more suitable if you have a lower wattage microwave or are using more than 2 eggs.
I mostly make cheese omelets. I like to place the cheese on after I take the omelet out of the microwave because from experience when I did it as instructed, the cheese came out watery.
Pan fried, stove-made omelets taste better in my opinion but this pan still does a good job and in a fraction of the time.
I also use the omelet pan for making eggs to put in my breakfast sandwiches. I just beat one egg and pour it on one side of the pan. Cool gadget for quick eggs in the morning.

(More customer reviews)When considering this purchase, I was a bit put off by the price -- it seemed too expensive. I was having my kitchen remodeled and would not be able to cook in it for a while. I was trying to find ways in which I could still cook and eat healthy. When I saw this item, it appeared to be a product in which I could put all the ingredients into it, pop it into the microwave, and presto -- a complete, healthy, Japanese meal!
So it seemed that this would be perfect for me, so I bit the bullet
and purchase both the Zen Cooker and the recipe book.
The recipes (if you purchase the related book) are good, but unfortunately to
cook a complete meal (rice, vegetables, main dish) you have to cook all
separately and thus have the problem of keeping them all warm, etc.
The Zen cooker works well, the cookbook recipes are good, but for the
money I put out and what I expected to get out of it -- I was disappointed.

Nordic Ware Microwave Eggs 'n Muffin Breakfast Pan Review

(More customer reviews)I take a small bowl, mix two large eggs with a splash of milk (don't over beat it, just get it mixed well) and pour it into the gray side of the container. Close the lid, and microwave it for a minute and a half (our microwave says it's 850 watts if that helps). The steam will cause a little bit of popping noise here and there. Some steam might shoot out from under the lid and onto the bottom of the microwave, but I haven't had any issues with egg splattering inside the microwave.
Before opening the thing, I flip it over and give it a gentle shake so the egg falls into the lid. Then I open it up and flip the egg onto some bread. This way I have better aim to get the egg on the bread instead of shaking it over the bread to get the egg out of the cooker. Not that its hard to get out, but that little bit of a shake can make your egg land off center of the bread. I'm just OCD enough that my egg must be centered. This thing is small enough that you can set your bread or muffin on top of the cooked egg and then flip.
As far as cleaning goes... a little bit of egg will be stuck to the inside of the cooker, but it's not baked on hard. It cleans out easily enough. Just wipe the egg out and toss the thing in the dishwasher. I haven't tried using cooking spray in it yet, but you might want to try it if you want this to be even easier to clean out.
It's just a nice, handy little microwave container that's really inexpensive. The way I do it, it makes a nice thick fluffy disc of egg which is perfect for making sandwiches. It's hot enough when you first take it out of the microwave that if you throw a slice of cheese on there it will melt enough to be tasty. It doesn't taste the same as frying an egg in a pan on the stove, but it's not supposed to, and it's not going to, and it's healthier than frying anyway.
Nordic Ware also makes a microwave egg broiler which can hard boil 4 eggs at a time in the microwave. If you like to hard boil eggs (or even soft boil them too) I would also recommend that product.

Microwave Rice Cooker Review

(More customer reviews)I've had my cooker for 11 years (got it in college). Great for making a quick (12-15 min) single or double serving of rice. The plastic design (as well as the lid disassembly) makes for easy cleanup.
Larger servings can be difficult due to boil-over issues, so I wouldn't recommend making more than about 3/4 cup of rice at one go. Also, the bits that snap over the lid to hold it down can come off and get lost. I still have mine after 11 years, but my college roommate lost one of his way back then. (It was after he moved out with his cooker in the summer that I had to pick up my own - I was hooked at that point.)

And what I found out was: There really is no comparison. Pasta n More LOOKS like you're getting more for your money, but doesn't deliver. The instructions are unclear, and the cookbook that comes with it is lame. I've used it 4 times and my pasta has came out hard on the ends and pasty in the middle.

(More customer reviews)I've been boiling various pasta noodles, at least twice a week, for over 25 years. When I first saw the FASTA PASTA microwave cooker internet demo video, I was a bit skeptical but interested enough to purchase the product from Amazon.com. After using the product three times, I can honestly say that it not only cooks pasta very fast but better, with less mess and energy, than pot boiling the noodles. Just follow the simple instructions and you will have perfectly cooked pasta without having to check it while cooking for readiness. I wish that this product had been invented years ago. My ONLY minor negative comments: 1. FASTA PASTA can only cook up to four pasta servings at one time, which makes its use for a large group impracticle. 2. The water measurement lines are a bit difficult to see when water and pasta is added to the cooker. Adding color to these lines would make them easier to see.
