Imusa Tortilla Warmer Review

Anyone that's ever been to a Mexican-themed restaurant knows exactly what this item is. This particular one is fairly large and will hold my home-made 8" tortillas nicely. With a damp washcloth (folded twice) and a layer of wax paper on the bottom it will easily hold a dozen home-made 8" tortillas. To reheat tortillas just place the container with the washcloth, wax paper and tortillas into a microwave for 30 seconds to two minutes. (Amount of time depends on: number of tortillas, how cold the whole container is to begin with, and dampness of the washcloth.) Also keeps my tortillas in the refrigerator nicely for a surprisingly-long amount of time.

Sassafras La Cloche Brick Oven Review

I had wanted one of these baking dishes ever since I read about them in Carol Field's book THE ITALIAN BAKER. My wife and I received one as a wedding present and I have now baked bread in it multiple times. It does indeed make a difference in the texture of the crust. After years of experimenting I had never been able to achieve that especially crisp crust that you get from a bakery, until now. Another plus is that the dough's final rise inside the covered dish obviates the need for plastic wrap. I lately have purchased the rectangular "baguette" version of La Cloche at an outlet store, and have found it to be a more practical shape for day to day baking. The original bell-shaped La Cloche is great, however, for making large, round hearth loaves or a cluster or dinner rolls.

Our Superstone La Cloche Bread Bakerutilizes the steam generated by the moist dough within the bell, resulting in a delicious bread with a crackly , golden crust and light crumb. Roasts, chickens and fish bake as the flavors of the natural juices circulate within the dome, thus preserving moisture and reducing shrinkage. 11"D x 2"H.

Bayou Classic 1000 100-Qt. Aluminum Stockpot with Boil Basket Review

Bayou Classic 1000 100-Qt. Aluminum Stockpot with Boil Basket

This is an excellent pot for crawfish or other seafood boils! The aluminum is thick and sturdy, and the handles are heavy duty. I am not worried at all about it handling a full load of water and seafood! I'm trying it out in a few weeks when it gets warmer, but I can tell already that it will get the job done (I've done quite a few crawfish boils before and have seen inferior pots).
I would prefer it if the boil basket were slightly higher, but you don't really want to overfill the pot anyway, so it's a good precaution.
In terms of what it will hold, it should cook up to 60 lbs of seafood, along with corn, potatoes, and sausage, in one batch!

Thunder Group Aluminum Sauce Pans Review

This pot is a bargain compared to what else is out there in this size. It's of a good thickness aluminum so you can simmer the tomato sauce for hours without burning. I was concerned about the rivets attaching the handles but haven't had any problems with any leakage as I've read about with other pots. I waited to order a cover and fortunately the lid from a saute pan we have fits like a glove. The inside finish doesn't gleam like the picture shows; the scoring from the pot being spun is obvious but not significant enough to effect use or cleaning. Great value in a sauce pot. The only possible draw back is the size of the long handle; it can get in the way or lead to accidents. As for lifting, the handle is nice and secure and a second handle that's more like a drawer handle makes lifting the full pot easy and secure. Macy's eat your heart out.

6qt Round Slow Cooker Review

My Rival 6 quart slow cooker is falling apart after only six months. First the High/Low/Off switch broke off in my hand (and no, I did not manhandle it.) Then a carrying handle broke off, spilled hot stew everywhere and scalded my hands. Then the handle for the glass lid broke off under the weight of the glass lid alone, and the other carrying handle also broke off under the weight of the EMPTY crock pot (and I mean empty -- the metal shell only without the ceramic inner bowl.) The plastic of all the handles literally disintegrated.
There's really no excuse for this, My parents bought a Hamilton crock pot in the mid 1970s that still works today (after many moves.) My first experience with a Rival Product was their 4070 Hot Pot Express (which was excellent and has served me well for 12 years, though the RIVAL 4071 replaced -- and probably improved -- the 4070.) The 6 qt. round slow cooker cannot make the same claim.
