(More customer reviews)This is a great pot designed for commercial use. It is fairly heavy, which is good for heat distribution. BUT... The problem I have with the pot is that when it is full with water, it is too heavy for me to lift to the sink to drain. This is where the inserts would come in very handy, but this particular pot in this size does not come with one (and neither does the 24-qt).
The price for this pot is very steep here. Sams club has this same exact pot for $49.97 and the bigger 24-qt pot for about $5 more (as of 9/3/08). Walmart and Target also sell them, so shop around.

Wolfgang Puck Stainless Steel Cookware Set - 18pc Review

(More customer reviews)The Wolfgang Puck Collection is fantastic as a full set of stainless steel cookware, however, as others have said, you need to know to first use oil ( I like Grapeseed for it's high heat tolerance) and then a bit of butter if you want that flavor, ( such as for scrambled eggs, etc..) After you're done, put a little water in the pan, use the spatula to loosen debris, then wipe. IT will be easier to clean once cooled down later on in the sink. You can't just put butter and make your food, then let it harden, and expect to not have to soak,and still use a stainless scouring pad. Taking the minute or two to do the above will make it a breeze. Then using stainless scrubber is still good, you can shine it right up, including the bottom, but fast, with nothing catching in the scour pad, (yuck!) I always had to use a scour pad this way with Revere Ware when I was a kid, nothing different, but until Wolfie showed the water method ( used by cooks in restaurants for years by the way) I never knew! My opinion with Teflon: Not worth it, if people don't take care of it, it peels and is then toxic, can't use a high heat. Forget putting in oven. YOu can use a higher heat with all Stainless all the way around, just have to learn a few simple tricks. ANy fool can cook with teflon, but it's limited and they don't hold up. Wolfgang puck holds up 10 years like new.. and going!

(More customer reviews)Gorgeous sturdy pot! Exactly what I was looking for and what I got. Nice and roomy for all my cooking stuffs and Lord knows I like that. Its also not heavy, but it's sturdy and not cheap! Lid fits nicely to form a clean seal. I have made many a nice meal in it, including Spicy Sicilian Chicken which requires a full 5lb chicken among many other things and that was no match for my lovely new pot!
Clean up is a so easy, no stains, the pot literally wipes right up! I use my pot on my Ceramic stove top and it really is perfect for it. It fits nicely on the burner. I love that it is stainless steel so as not to mess up my foods tastes or leach any harmful chemicals into my foods!
I feel this is the best bargain for a pot in this category! Its an awesome pot that anyone would be proud to own. Use, then store or display, it looks nice on my ceramic stove top and functions perfectly. Couldn't ask for better.
Do be aware of your dimensions regarding clearance from your stove top to whatever maybe above your stove, your microwave, range hood or kitchen cabinets. We have a microwave above our kitchen stove top and although the clearance is plenty fine, when removing the lid I still banged into the microwave's base of the door a couple times.

The box was not damaged, so it had to have been in that condition when packaged. It is made of very thin material so it is no wonder it dented so easily. You certainly couldn't cook with it without scorching your food. This product belongs in a dollar store.

(More customer reviews)This is a really nice pan. I have used it many times. It is good quality and the right size for my family. The steamer basket works great and so does the lock and drain system. The only thing that I don't like is the lid design. If you aren't using the drain piece the lid sits down in a groove and is not tight fitting so when the food gets hot and boils the lid jiggles and makes noise and spews water drops all over the stove top or floor. I have had to resort to using a lid from another pan that fits better, go figure!

The bulging bottom seems to cause the boiling water to rise up on the outside of the strainer rather than boil up through the holes and agitate the pasta. I also found a humid summer caused spots of rust to spring up due to a poor grade of steel.

I have seen similar in stores for almost twice the price. It sits nice and flat on my electric range, heats well and holds the heat for a long time, perfect for long cooking of soups and stews. It cleans up well, with nothing burning or sticking. I don't think one can do better.

(More customer reviews)Although this pot is inexpensive, I don't think it is a good value. The quality level of this pot is typical of what is found in dollar stores. The steel is so thin that I can literally buckle the side of the pot with my index finger. You are going to have to coddle this pot to keep it from getting dented up.
The steel at the base is just as thin as the sides, so heat distribution is terrible. This will not be too big an issue if you're just boiling water for pasta or steaming. But, this pot is not going to double as good stock pot.
It looks as inexpensive as it is. So, it's probably not going to flatter the decor of your kitchen.
Accordingly, I am returning this item. I think it's worth spending a little more to get something better.

This was the 2nd time I had ordered it, but chose to keep the Large Pot and throw away the small pot, as it was also defective the same way it was on the first order. The nipples on the inside didn't exist and was not able to lock/close the lid.
